19-10-2015

The new plant which consists of a fully refurbished Macpresse MAC 111/1 baling press., The Groups’ second MAC1500 hogger and two brand new MAC 1800P conveyors has the capability to increase the depots capacity for receiving paper, cardboard, plastics and RDF by around 75,000 tonnes per annum and will receive recyclables from a multitude of businesses, Local Authorities and Waste Management companies in London and the South East. RCP SA, the UK based arm of Swiss company RCP Systems, provided the full installation on a turn-key basis which included layout design, delivery from Italy, installation, training and commissioning. In addition a five year comprehensive maintenance package which covered routine maintenance, worn parts, breakdowns and all consumables was also provided. Graeme Coombs, TGM Environmental Group’s Managing Director, said: “This is a significant investment in growing our capacity in London and the South East that, for the first time, will allow the Group to truly concentrate on growth in several new sectors.” “Our specialist expertise in the paper and board sector together with a growing understanding of the emerging plastics and RDF sectors gives the Group real optimism for the future after what has been a very difficult trading period.” he added. The Group has further plans to expand its collection and processing capabilities in the Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire areas with additional premises to complement its Guildford/West Horsley facility. The MAC 111/1 baling press at the heart of the TGM operation has two powerful 55Kw motors producing a ram thrust pressure of 170 tonnes, sufficient to produce perfect bales to a range of specifications. The large feed hopper with a 2.5 cubic metre capacity and a cycle time of only 12 seconds (depending on material) ensures a fast, efficient operation.
