OCS Environmental achieves top industry standard

25-02-2015

The leading European association for asbestos removal contractors ARCA (Asbestos Removal Contactors Association) has given a top accolade to OCS Environmental Services with a Grade A (Gold Standard) award. The award is made to members who are committed to continuous improvement through the ongoing development of policies, systems and risk control, and rewards those companies that have invested in meeting the exemplary management standards. ARCA leads the UK asbestos removal contractor industry in ensuring that related businesses to are working to the highest standards. Stringent rules of membership allow only those companies who demonstrate high standards of workmanship and health and safety management to join ARCA, and all members are audited independently at least twice a year to ensure standards are maintained. Bob Taylor CEO of OCS UK Public Sector Healthcare and Infrastructure said: “The industry bar for this award is set very high and we are proud to have achieved it. Auditing is a crucial component in the management of health and safety, and we look forward to continuing to champion the highest standards. We manage every aspect of risk from asbestos on a client property, dovetailing with the organisation’s compliance procedures and regulatory requirements to create safe, bespoke solutions.” In 2014 OCS Environmental Services was awarded a 12-month contract, working with demolition contractor Coleman & Company and site owner RWE npower, to remove asbestos from Didcot A Power Station to enable the full demolition of the power station and its ancillary buildings.
