Bird Hide and Conversion Works Surrey Wildlife Trust
EcoVigour have just undertaken the design and restoration of a former pump-house building to a bird hide and wildlife watching facility for Surrey Wildlife Trust. The works involved a full ecological survey of the building and sampling assessments of a suspected asbestos roof. Following confirmation of asbestos the roof was removed and safely disposed of before a new corrugated iron sheeting was installed to weather proof the building for the next Twenty Five Years. The roof was finished with new fascia boarding and gutter system to keep water from running down the masonry walls and dripping onto any bird watchers using the facility.Following this any remaining pumping equipment was stripped out and the building entrance reconfigured to make it fit for its new purpose. A solid timber door blank was installed and a punch code door locking system added, enabling the Wildlife Trust to mange access to the new facility.Visit the EcoVigour website for more information on Bird Hide and Conversion Works Surrey Wildlife Trust
