Solar - battery powered bespoke monitoring system with submersible sensors
Product Code: Solar Powered Water Quality Measurement
Sometimes it is not economically possible to install a permanent power supply to a water quality monitoring station and a solar powered system needs to be considered.
For applications where continuous measurement is required, PPM can provide an engineered water quality monitoring solution, powered by lead acid batteries with photovoltaic trickle charging. Depending upon the number of water quality sensors required, typically two PV solar panels would be installed onto a small concrete base alongside a small GRP enclosure containing the batteries, ancillary parts and instrumentation.
The monitoring system would typically comprise one or two water quality instruments providing local displays and output signals, with sensors submerged in the adjacent sample stream. Measurement signals can be transmitted to the cloud using GSM communications for remote data access and display.
The following sensor technology is available:
- Ammonium
- Nitrate
- UVT
- Derived TOC/COD/BOD (application dependant)
- CDOM / Chlorophyll a / Cyanobacteria / Rhodamine / Tryptophan
- Conductivity
- Dissolved Oxygen (DO)
- ORP (Redox)
- pH
- Turbidity
- Suspended Solids (MLSS)
