July / August 2023 In July, a CSA Group lead auditor attended PPM for a two-day, in-depth ISO 9001:2015 recertification audit. All clauses of the ISO standard were covered checking that PPM satisfies all the stringent requirements and that we could supply proof as required. CSA Group Testing UK Ltd are themselves UKAS accredited as an industry leader in testing and certification. August then saw the award of the ISO 9001 recertification, valid until August 12th 2026 subject to annual external surveillance audits carried out by CSA QUALITY CERTIFICATE (pollution-ppm.co.uk). Site commissioning of the first British Sugar analyser kiosk, took place during two separate site visits, to initially test and then subsequently put to work, the analyser package which will be used to measure the effluent quality at a new treatment plant. This visit was conducted concurrent with the build of a second analyser kiosk which was inspected by the contractor, prior to delivery to the second site which will also see it’s treatment upgraded. The walk-in GRP enclosures contain various continuous monitors that include ortho-phosphate on the untreated feed, in addition to ortho-phosphate, TOC, ammonia, nitrate and ortho-phosphate on the treated effluent. Site commissioning and training will follow at the second site, once installation has been completed by the contractor -delivering the complete project. Additionally, we welcomed our Chinese agent to PPM for additional product training and project discussions. The visit also allowed for witnessed QA testing of the latest order of six Proam ammonia monitors ranged 0-2.00 mg/l N which will be used to control the aerobic digestion (nitrification) process at a key municipal treatment facility. During the period we also received two additional orders for Proams ammonia monitors for final effluent monitoring within Severn Trent Water and two pH monitoring systems for use within Wessex Water.
