Conical Tanks for Stone Wastewater Treatment

Conical Tanks for Stone & Cutting Wastewater Treatment
Conical Tanks for Stone Wastewater Treatment are used in stone fabrication & cutting wastewater for treatment of cutting wastewater.  This water can be treated and reused or recycling for saving on input costs and disposal of wastewater costs.  In the stone fabrication and cutting industry, a lot of tools and equipment rely on water to operate efficiently for extraction, cutting, and finishing.
As all these tools use a lot of water, they also produce a lot of wastewater.  Thousands of litres of water are used daily to cut and polish marble, granite, quartz, ceramic, concrete, and stone.  With the requirements for consent for discharge for wastewater and the rising cost of clean water, a lot of this water can be reused.
Benefits of Plastic Tanks
Conical plastic water tanks are popular in this industry as primary wastewater treatment for stone cutting water generally starts with solids separation in conical sedimentation tanks.  These tanks use gravity to settle our larger particles as the heavier waste will drop to the cone of the tank.    Consideration needs to be given to batch dumps of water, high-water and settlement times of the particles so the equipment is correctly sized.
Conical tanks are popular as settlement tanks as the steep cone allows the sludge to be drained of easier than a flat base tank.  This allows these sedimentation tanks to be used as continuous flow tanks in treating, and reusing water at a quarry or processing facility.

Primary Settlement Tanks for Stone Cutting Wastewater
Primary settlement tanks are used in the initial stages of water treatment processes. In these tanks, solid particles simply settle at the bottom of the tank, from where they can be removed.
Primary settlement tank features;

High-level flanged inlet
Centre diffuser pipe
30, 45 or 60-degree cone
Flanged drain in the cone of the tank
Optional high-level overflow weir
Optional racking outlet at the top of the cone

These tanks are available up to 15,000 litres – more details here
Full Drain Sludge Tanks
Shallow base sludge tanks are available up 30,000 litres with a shallow base. These tanks are used as storage tanks, dump tanks or equalisation tanks and often fitted with a mixer or agitator to keep solids in suspension. These larger tanks are sited before the steep cone settlement tank – more details here.
