CHEMICALS PRODUCTION - Sulphuric Acid

Sulphuric Acid ( H2SO4 ) is manufactured from a variety of feedstocks and for different reasons. For example, it can be produced as a by-product from SO2 off-gas from non-ferrous metals smelting, it can be made by burning sulphur for on-site use in Phosphate Fertiliser processing, or it can be regenerated from ‘spent’ acid such as waste from MMA acrylics production. Filters are used to collect H2SO4 mist or droplets exiting various stages of the process, depending on the design of the plant. It is very important to select the correct type of filter for the specific needs of each plant and each tower, to meet efficiency or energy requirements.
