Building Regulations, Part ‘N’ and ‘M’

To comply with the current legislation, non domestic buildings, large and uninterrupted pieces of transparent glazing are now required to incorporate features which make the glazing apparent. This is called manifestation. In Part ‘N’ and ‘M’ of the Building Regulations, manifestations on glass are required at 2 heights: 855mm to 1000mm and 1400mm to 1600mm above floor level. Manifestation should contrast visually with the background seen through the glass, in both directions in all lighting conditions.
